Eyelash Extensions is applying semi-permanent eyelash hairs to your natural eyelashes. This process involves separating an individual natural lash and applying the extension with a high quality adhesive and repeating this process for all "adult" lashes.
If the extensions are applied by a fully qualified and trained professional who has a strong eye for detail then the answer is no. If applied correctly, you should barely feel your extensions and there should be no pain, tugging, irritation or pulling sensation.
If the extensions are applied by a fully qualified and trained professional, the answer is no, it will definitely not damage your natural lashes. A trained lash technician should know the appropriate weight, thickness and length for a natural lash which will not cause damage to the natural lash.
This can include but not limited to:
- Poor isolation of the natural lash and lashes are stuck together
- Extensions that are applied are too thick and heavy for the natural lash to hold
- Extensions applied are too long for the natural lash causing breakage or early fall out
- Excessive amount of adhesive used which makes the extensions too heavy for the natural lash
Your natural eyelashes have a total growth cycle of approximately 6 weeks. Each eyelash hair is on its own cycle compared to the ones next to it, growing from a "baby" lash to an "adult". On average, a person will have 100 lashes per eye. Because you lose approximately 3 natural lashes per day, after 2 weeks of getting your Eyelash Extensions, you will have lost about 40 lashes. Which is about 40% of your extensions. When you come in for your refill treatment, new extensions will be applied to your newly grown "adult" lashes.
If you are able to contact me via Facebook or Text (0412649391) and send me one close up photo and one full face photo of the lashes you have on and await approval. There is a possibility that once you arrive to your refill appointment that your current extensions from else where are unsafe to continue with a refill and a removal and a full set is recommended instead. This may be due to lashes being stuck together or the lashes are too long for the natural lash to carry.
Yes you can wear makeup - just not mascara. Things to avoid when wearing makeup is waterproof eyeliner and waterproof makeup removers. Also avoid any makeup wipes as they can dislodge the extensions.
Washing the lashes ensures the removal of any dead skin cells, makeup build-up, and debris that is caught in the gap between your eyelid and your extension. This is beneficial because it keeps your eyes clear from infections and lash mites and it also makes your lashes last longer when you come in for your refill. If you have dirt and debris on your lashes for your refill, the lashes do not adhere well and can cause poor lash retention.
The Super Bonder is a product made by Ruthie Belle, a leading brand in the eyelash industry. They have created a product similar to a sealant which starts the curing process of the adhesive instantly. This means that your lashes will last up to 30% longer and you can wash your lashes straight after your treatment and do not need to wait 24 hours.
